Get a Fishing License
You must purchase a fishing license online in advance of any charters or excursions you go on. Don’t forget to bring it with you!
What to Bring
Almost everything you’ll need for a day out on the water will be supplied by your fishing charter operator, including gear (although you’re welcome to bring your own)
- Camera
- Soft soled runners or deck shoes
- Sunscreen / sunglasses / hat
- Layers, including a light rain coat or wind breaker jacket
- Snacks
- Motion sickness remedies, if required
Catch Limits and Openings/Closures
Canadian waters are protected in order to help avoid over fishing of our natural resources, and as such, there are limits to the number of pacific salmon you are allowed to catch and keep in the Sooke and Port Renfrew areas.
Before heading out on the water, be sure to check for up-to-date information on fishing limits, openings, and closures.

How it works: Just bring your catch to our front desk team during open hours. Our team will look after your order by weighing the fish, tagging, bagging and placing them into our freezer. Hours of operation are 6:30am to 4:30pm until September 6, 2025.
